Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities in Minnesota. You will work on conduit runs, switchgear, MCCs, and control wiring, ensuring code-compliant installations and safe operation.

Qualifications

  • This requires a current Minnesota Journeyman Electrician license and strong NEC knowledge.
  • Minimum 1+ year of commercial or industrial electrical experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read electrical prints, schematics, and one-line diagrams.

Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Description

This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities while adhering to electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. You will work with a variety of conduit types, switchgear, and control systems, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant installations that support large-scale operations. Work shift is Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts, Saturday 5 hour shift and $135 per diem 7 days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Install electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities according to blueprints, specifications, and applicable electrical code requirements.

  • Run and bend EMT, RMC, IMC, and PVC conduit accurately and efficiently.

  • Install cable trays, wireways, rigid conduit, and underground electrical systems.

  • Pull wire and terminate power, control, and instrumentation wiring in a neat and organized manner.

  • Install switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), panels, disconnects, and lighting systems.

  • Read and interpret electrical prints, schematics, and one-line diagrams to plan and execute installations.

  • Perform equipment hookups and assist with startup and commissioning activities.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Ensure all work complies with Minnesota electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.

  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to maintain project schedules and support efficient workflow.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, inspections, and any changes to the original design.

  • Follow established safety procedures and participate in maintaining a safe jobsite for all team members.

Essential Skills
  • Current Minnesota Journeyman Electrician License (required).

  • Minimum 1+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred.

  • Hands-on experience installing electrical systems in large-scale industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, data centers, warehouses, or commercial construction projects.

  • Proficiency in running and bending EMT, RMC, IMC, and PVC conduit.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical prints, schematics, and one-line diagrams.

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Minnesota electrical codes.

  • Ability to install and terminate power, control, and instrumentation wiring.

Work Environment
