Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to keep our hospital facilities safe and reliable. You will perform preventive maintenance, install and repair electrical systems, and work under the supervision of the facilities supervisor.

This full-time night shift (10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) on Mon-Fri requires strong teamwork, adherence to electrical codes, and careful documentation. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Licenses required: MI Driver's License and MI Electrical License.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with supervisor, customer, and other trades to ensure quality, timely maintenance.
• Performs electrical maintenance including conduit, junction boxes, lighting, power, and electrical system installations per codes.
• Documents procedures and work completed accurately.
• Ensures safe use of equipment and clean, safe work areas.
• Performs electrical construction including layout and demolition of electrical systems.
• Ensures compliance with legal specifications and electrical codes.
• Coordinates workflow with other trades and serves as a resource for electrical systems.

Job Summary

Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment through cleaning and general maintenance under the direction of a supervisor. Independently performs preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various electrical systems. Participates in the overall building management program to provide high quality, cost effective service with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Communicates and collaborates with the supervisor, customer, and other trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost effective maintenance with continuity and coordination of services.
• Performs comprehensive electrical maintenance including the assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of conduit, junction boxes, and fixtures of lighting, power, and other electrical systems, according to specifications and electrical codes. Measures, cuts, and installs conduit, wire, and fittings using hand and power tools.
• Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.
• Performs electrical construction work including layout, demolition and construction of all types of electrical systems.
• Ensures that all electrical services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, electrical codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.
• Plans and coordinates work flow with other trades and acts as resource related to electrical systems.
