Under the direction of the Plant Facilities Manager, the Journeyman Electrician monitors and maintains all electrical equipment, lighting, assists in telecommunication/data, snow removal, and general maintenance of the complex which is comprised of the Arena, Expo’s, and Conference Center.
The Journeyman Electrician performs work that is complex and varied when maintaining various electrical equipment which includes the HVAC system and fire system. The ability and skill to use a variety of equipment and machinery and the ability to plan and lay out work to complete tasks and projects on time is required.
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for a variety of different operations to complete tasks. A high degree of accuracy is required to protect tools and materials to help prevent injury to others. Technical manuals and work precedents are used to perform work.
The Journeyman Electrician maintains frequent contact with other County employees, various manufacturing representatives and engineers as well as general public regarding Electrical systems and related equipment.
The Journeyman Electrician works in an Arena facility requiring frequent walking, some sitting and standing and frequent lifting up to forty pounds and pushing and/or pulling loads. Very frequent bending, reaching overhead, kneeling, crawling and climbing ladders are required including working at heights up to 150 feet above the ground and on catwalks. The Journeyman Electrician must have the ability to type including proofreading, attention to detail, monitoring equipment and detailed inspection is required. The Journeyman Electrician is required to work outdoors during extreme weather conditions with exposure to dirt, grease, slippery surfaces and high and low temperatures. Safety precautions must be observed at all times to ensure safety of self and others.

7:00 am -3:00 pm normal working hours. Must be available to work event shifts which varies depending on each event that includes working nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call 24/7 in case of any emergencies that may emerge.
