Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced equipment operator to support Texas-based construction projects. You will operate heavy machinery, perform road maintenance, and assist with grading and material handling on various sites.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, basic equipment maintenance, and effective communication with supervisors. This on-site position involves physical activity and exposure to outdoor conditions, with potential for overtime as projects demand.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment on construction sites.
Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.
Familiarity with basic maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment to perform maintenance and repairs on roads/rights-of-way, including loading, hauling and dumping on surfaces.
Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
Instruct and train employees in safe operation of equipment and in job techniques and skills.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects.
