Job summary

Avion Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Journeyman Information Security Systems Manager to perform hardware/software cybersecurity analysis and RMF A&A tasks for DoD programs.

You will evaluate security controls, prepare accreditation packages, and maintain RMF documentation while ensuring compliance with DoD RMF requirements and NIST controls. Some travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140 ISSM-Basic certification, education, and experience compliance.
• Associate's degree in Engineering, IT, orCyber-related field.
• Experience implementing and evaluating DoD STIG requirements, NIST RMF, IAVMs, and cybersecurity assessment tools.
• Knowledge of the RMF process and NIST security controls.
• Knowledge of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-160, Systems Security Engineering.
• Experience with eMASS and RMF packages.
• Ability to work with system developers to update RMF/POA&M documentation.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% (US travel only).

Responsibilities

• Join a team performing hardware and software cybersecurity analysis and RMF A&A support for data processing, test, and tactical systems.
• Evaluate and document security posture, vulnerabilities, and controls against NIST.
• Select and assess security controls; complete accreditation packages and implement mitigations.
• Identify security threats/risks and document them throughout the system lifecycle.
• Maintain DoD RMF certification activities (planning, testing, assessing, coordinating).
• Document residual risks and manage authorization packages.
• Monitor system compliance with DoD security, resilience, and dependability requirements; validate results.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure continued functionality within the DoD RMF framework.
