Job summary

The Oak Harbor Company is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in Newark, California, focusing on equipment maintenance and safety within the trucking industry. Candidates will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues, alongside performing preventative maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred.
• Prior experience with a variety of hand tools is highly desirable.
• Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review and address written reports and verbal complaints from drivers regarding equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Conduct tests on equipment and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
• Execute repairs on brakes and electrical systems.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Document all repairs and maintenance activities.

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
• Conduct tests on equipment and systems to assess performance and identify any issues.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate diagnostic tools and software to determine necessary repairs.
• Execute repairs on brakes, electrical systems, and other critical components as needed.
• Replace worn or damaged parts to maintain equipment integrity.
• Document all repairs, maintenance activities, and any disciplinary or accountability-related concerns as required.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred.
• Prior experience with a variety of hand tools is highly desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate strength, stamina, and attention to detail required for the role.
• Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
• Strong technical knowledge and years of experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL license is advantageous but not mandatory.
