Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks a journey-level carpenter, cabinetmaker and locksmith under general supervision to perform remodeling, cabinet making and lock work, including installation of doors, windows, and master key systems. The role covers fabrication, repairs, and maintenance of wooden fixtures, doors, and related hardware, plus inventory management and training of other workers.

Candidates should have formal locksmith training and a multi-year carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent

Qualifications

• Formal locksmith training completed.
• Six years total experience required: four years as a carpenter apprentice or equivalent; or two years journey-level carpenter/cabinetmaker.
• Experience installing doors/windows and maintaining master key systems.

Responsibilities

• Builds partitions, installs doors and windows and modifies building areas.
• Changes key and cylinder combinations; maintains master key systems.
• Directs and/or trains other workers as required.
• Maintains store room, materials, and tools; fabricates wooden fixtures.
• Repairs doors, woodwork and locks in facilities; reads blueprints and specs.
