Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a Carpenter Assistant to support journey level carpenters in maintenance, repair, and alterations of structures and wood components. You will gain hands-on experience through on-the-job training to advance to a journey level carpenter.

The role involves assisting with carpentry work, repairing office furniture, and performing locksmith duties as needed. FTE 1.0, day shift, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience performing maintenance work, repairs, alterations to building equipment and support systems.
• Ability to use power and hand tools including powered table saw, jointer, shaper, drill press, routers and other hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey level carpenter and independently perform carpentry work involved in maintenance, repair, and alteration of structures and wood articles.
• Repair office furniture such as cabinets, bookshelves, and partitions; locksmith duties, install and repair locks.
• Perform related work as assigned.
