Granite School District is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to support the Maintenance Department in ensuring timely and quality carpentry work. The role involves framing, cabinet work, door installation and repairs, as well as maintaining a safe workplace with proper tools and materials.
You will plan assignments, coordinate with vendors, and assist in supervising apprentices and hourly workers. A valid driver's license and district apprenticeship credits are required.

Assists Foreman, Assistant Foreman and Leads in assuring timely and quality work is performed in the Carpentry Department. Assures proper materials, tools, and equipment are used. Assures a safe working environment and follows procedures. Responsible for framing, cabinet marking, repairs, and maintenance of structures. Attendance and physical presence are required and is an essential function of this position.
May consult with administrators, teachers, co-workers, and patrons to assist in the timely completion of projects. Assists in planning work projects. Assures that each assignment has sufficient tools, materials, and supplies. Prioritizes work for specific job assignments. Must be able to perform assigned tasks without on-site supervision. May determine that the use of specific equipment is a danger to the user and remove the equipment or neutralize it in place.
Interacts positively with students, teachers, principals, district personnel and other outside vendors or agencies.
Requires ability to motivate apprentices and hourly workers. Makes specific assignments and monitors performance of assigned employees. Assist in evaluating performance of apprentices. The work supervised can be complex.
Financially responsible to maintain and track purchase card usage and follow purchasing guidelines. Maintaining and tracking of inventory.
May be subject to high locations, awkward positions, heat, noise, dirt, chemicals, confined spaces, and cold. May experience occasional stress from emergencies and in meeting project deadlines. Some district emergencies may require additional irregular hours. Interruptions may occur while performing work requiring accuracy and concentration.
