Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Cable Splicer Journeyman in Wichita, Kansas, to join the Wichita Line team. The role requires at least three (3) years experience in the trade, with the ability to install and splice cables, install potheads and other equipment for underground distribution systems and substations.

Selected candidates must complete a formal cable splicer apprentice program, pass a written test and skills demonstration, maintain a valid CDL, live within 35 miles of the Wichita Service Center,

Qualifications

• Formal cable splicer apprentice program completed.
• Ability to work on network systems and equipment, including Network Protectors.
• Capable of installing, splicing and terminating primary and secondary cables.
• Able to locate and repair cable faults of all varieties.
• Capable of locating, tagging and working on underground cables and equipment.
