Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Line Foreman for Wichita, Kansas. The role runs Wednesday through Saturday evenings, from 2:00 p.m. to midnight, overseeing line crews and ensuring safe, efficient execution of electrical distribution and transmission tasks.

The ideal candidate is a Journeyman Lineman with leadership experience, a valid Class A CDL, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Applicants must live within 35 miles of the Wichita Operations Center and pass a written test and skills

Qualifications

• Line Foremen shall be Journeyman Lineman with leadership and ability to plan and direct the work of others.
• Foremen must be physically able and will perform as a Journeyman when necessary.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove hazards and facilitate repairs.
• Install and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems and equipment.
• Inspect power lines and equipment, using testing instruments.
• String conductors and cables, set lines and maintain tension.
• Test voltage and ensure correct connections; install meters and service drops.
