Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Boilermaker to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair boilers and related equipment on-site. You will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and coordinate with crane operators to position heavy components on boiler frames and vessels.

Requirements include 4 years of Journeyman-level experience, NCCER, a valid driver’s license, and a TWIC card. This position requires legal work authorization in the United States and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER credential, a Valid Driver’s License, and a TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

• Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects, such as leaks or weak spots, so they can be repaired.
• Bolt or arc welds pressure vessel structures and parts together using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Inspect assembled vessels or components to locate defects.
• Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using welding equipment and tools.
• Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy components.
• Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other metal and mark bending lines using templates.
• Install manholes, taps, tubes, valves, or gauges in boilers using hand tools.
• Study blueprints to determine locations, relationships, or dimensions of parts.
• Position, align, and secure structural parts to boiler frames or tanks following blueprints.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain safety, quality, and productivity.
