• Coordinates with outside electrical supplier (HL&P) and contractors to restore power to buildings.
• Serves on special task force during emergencies such as floods, storms, hurricanes, etc.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, maintains electrical service touniversity owned buildings. Maintains branch circuits forconvenience outlets, lighting, motors and controllers. Maintainsemergency power circuits. Pursuant to the State of Texas ExecutiveOrder No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has accessto critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain thesecurity or integrity of the University infrastructure. Thisposition requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determinewhether or not criminal history or continuous connections for thegovernment or political apparatus of a foreign adversary mightprevent the employee from being able to maintain the security orintegrity of the infrastructure.

Description

1. Inspects and repairs electrical service within buildings,including electrical distribution, branch circuits, associatedbreakers and distribution panels.
2. Inspects and repairs emergency power circuits withinbuildings, to include distribution and branch circuits.
3. Repairs/replaces damaged or faulty electrical devices inelectrical distribution throughout buildings, i.e., breakers,wiring, controllers, convenience outlets, light fixtures, lights,etc.
4. Completes work orders, emergency tickets and preventativemaintenance assignments.
5. Works with outside electrical supplier (HL&P) to ensurethat all power lines are free of obstacles; works with suppliersand outside contractors in restoring overhead power tobuildings.
6. Serves on special task force during periods of emergency,such as floods, storms, hurricanes, etc.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED Required

THIS JOB REQUIRES A VALID TEXAS DRIVER'S LICENSE.

MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuationand simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. asmight normally be acquired through attainment of a high schooldiploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted uponacceptance of an employment offer.
