Job summary

Mercor is hiring experienced News Analysts, Reporters, and Journalists to evaluate AI-generated news content and workflows using real-world reporting and editorial judgment across print and broadcast media.

You will assess accuracy, compare AI outputs, and provide feedback on story selection, source evaluation, and narration. Start date is immediate with a project lasting roughly 4–6 weeks; payment is task-based with transition to hourly pay for subsequent tasks.

• 4+ years of experience in journalism or related role.
• Experience writing, narrating, or analyzing news stories for print or broadcast media.
• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.

About the Role

Mercor is hiring experienced News Analysts, Reporters, and Journalists to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you'll evaluate AI-generated news content and workflows, leveraging your real-world expertise in reporting, news analysis, and editorial judgment across print and broadcast media.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated news stories, analyses, scripts, and other journalistic artifacts for quality and accuracy.

• Compare AI-generated responses head-to-head based on reporting rigor, editorial soundness, and clarity of narration.

• Review journalistic scenarios involving story selection, source evaluation, fact interpretation, and presentation choices and provide expert feedback.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Reporter, News Reporter, News Anchor, Staff Writer, Journalist, or another closely related news or journalism role.

• Experience writing, narrating, or analyzing news stories, reviews, or commentary for print, broadcast, or other communications media.

• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.

• Strong written English communication skills.

Additional Information

• Start date: Immediate

• Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks

• Payment: task-based (payment upon first task approval). Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.
