Job summary

WoodJobs.com is seeking an experienced shop lead for a certified AWI cabinet fabrication team in Seattle. You will oversee production, operate and maintain woodworking equipment, and drive high-quality output.

You will read blueprints, manage a small crew of cabinet makers and assemblers, ensure AWI compliance, coordinate assembly and installation, and uphold precision and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cabinet manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience reading plans and creating cut lists.
• Familiarity with AWI specifications.
• Leadership of a small production team.
• Proficiency with table saws, edge banders, and basic power tools.
• Drafting experience with AutoCAD preferred, but not required.

Here is an AWI Certified Casework/Cabinet company that designs and manufactures custom cabinets for various commercial companies in the PNW and across the U.S. They are looking for a talented and experienced shop lead to come on board to assist with our cabinet production, working collaboratively with our team to continue the tradition of maintaining their high-quality production and attention to detail on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cabinet production operations by operating and maintaining woodworking equipment such as table saws, edge banders, and other power tools to ensure high-quality output.
• Ensure compliance with AWI specifications and company quality standards, maintaining precision, consistency, and attention to detail throughout all stages of production.
• Coordinate cabinet assembly and installation processes, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and meet client expectations and AWI quality standards.
• Manage and supervise a small team of cabinet makers and assemblers, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and a collaborative team environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to create accurate cut lists and guide the manufacturing and assembly of custom cabinetry.

Requirements

• Familiarity and proficiency with wood working/cabinet making equipment, which includes but is not limited to:
• Familiarity with AWI specifications (AWI – Architectural Woodworking Institute)
• Drafting experience with AutoCAD preferred, but not required.
• Manage a small team of cabinet makers/assemblers
• Five (5) plus years of industry experience
• Cabinet assembly & installation experience
• Ability to read plans and specifications
