Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure a safe pool area for all participants. You will monitor activities, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies with CPR and First Aid as trained.

Hours are weekdays from 5 AM to 10 AM, totaling approximately 20 hours per week. A current lifeguard certification and strong swimming skills are required for this role.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certifications required or current.
• Ability to work weekdays 5:00–10:00 AM.
• Strong swimming skills and attentive supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment around the pool and supervise swimmers.
• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR/First Aid per YMCA/AMA guidelines.
• Maintain pool area and equipment and enforce safety rules.

Under the direction of the Aquatic Coordinator/ Program Specialist and Head Guard, the Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool, which includes responding to emergencies and administering CPR and First Aid effectively (according to certifications - YMCA and American Heart Association guidelines).
