Job summary

Ymca Of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Lifeguard at OrthoIndy YMCA in Indianapolis, IN 46254. The position focuses on pool safety, supervision, and emergency response in accordance with YMCA and American Heart Association standards.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and hold a current YMCA Lifeguard or ARC Lifeguard certificate with First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications. Flexible hours and ongoing training are available at this location.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must possess and maintain current YMCA Lifeguard certificate or ARC Lifeguard certificate, including First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications.
• Must have the ability to pass a basic lifeguard skills test, including swimming 500 yards.
• Must be able to relate to and communicate with people of all ages, cultures, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool.
• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid per YMCA/AMA guidelines.
• Enforce pool rules and supervise swimmers to ensure safety.
• Coordinate with Aquatic Coordinator/Program Specialist and Head Guard as required.

Under the direction of the Aquatic Coordinator/ Program Specialist and Head Guard, the Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool, which includes responding to emergencies and administering CPR and First Aid effectively (according to certifications - YMCA and American Heart Association guidelines).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.


• Must possess and maintain current YMCA Lifeguard certificate, American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate or Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Certificate, including current First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications.


• Must have the ability to pass basic lifeguard skills test, including swimming 500 yards.
