Job summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a Design Project Manager - Joint Use Construction in Oregon to lead design and construction efforts for licensee projects. You will manage cost estimation, ensure NESC compliance, run pole loading analyses, and collaborate with communication partners from initial contact to final closing.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, CAD or related field.
• Typically one or more years in utility operations.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete cost estimates for licensees using current estimating resources including design software, drawings, material lists, design specifications, and permits.
• Inspect PGE poles and ensure compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Verify NESC clearances for new attachments.
• Run Pole Loading Analysis (PLA) on field poles to ensure they pass standards.
• Create non-design and design work orders to modify poles to meet PLA/NESC/PGE standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact on all assigned projects from first contact to final closing.
