Job summary

Joe's Bar in Chicago seeks a friendly, professional server to take orders, deliver meals, and greet guests while promoting specials and restaurant promotions.

You will input orders into the POS, coordinate with the kitchen, ensure accuracy, and check guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience; candidates should be 18+, have a Food Worker Card, and at least one year of serving experience. Ability to stand for extended periods and communicate in English is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Service of food and/or beverage to include taking, delivering and clearing orders.
• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner and explain specials/promotions.
• Take orders and input into POS to inform kitchen staff of details.
• Retrieve orders from kitchen, verify accuracy and deliver to guests.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal service and respond as needed.

Job description

• Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items
• Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
• Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
• Takes the order and inputs the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order
• Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests
• Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
• Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid Food Worker Card required
• Prefer a minimum of one year of previous serving experience
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time
