Job description

Pacific Rail Services is hiring immediately for this Rail Terminal Operator position to join our ever-growing team for a full-time permanent position in a recession-proof industry working at the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh, PA Terminal! No Experience is required as we'll teach you everything you need to know to be successful on the job.

What You'll Do:

• This role combines the responsibilities of a Hostler Driver and Ground Person. You will learn to operate a jockey truck, maneuvering 53ft trailers, containers, and chassis around the rail yard.
• Engage in various ground duties, including climbing on and off railcars, securing tracks, and handling inner box connectors (IBCs).
• Assist crane operators with equipment loading and unloading using hand signals.
• Play a key role in stacking and unstacking chassis, as well as loading and unloading chassis racks.
• Fulfill other assigned duties in a dynamic and team-oriented work environment.

Starting Rate:

• $19.00/ hr with yearly pay increases.
• You'll have the potential to make $50,000-$65,000/yr in hourly pay with overtime factored in!
• Must be available to work nights and weekends.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a valid Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass a 7-year background check.
• Any felonies in the last 7 years of jail time in the last 5 years will disqualify applicants.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and a Physical Capabilities Test.
• (No GED or diploma required)

Location Requirement:

APPLICANTS MUST currently live within a 45-minute commute of the business location. OUT OF AREA candidates and/or those requiring relocation will NOT be considered.
