Job summary

Altus Hospice is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide hands-on end-of-life care in patients' homes in Victoria and surrounding counties. The role supports a nursing team and focuses on comfort, dignity, and compassionate care.

The position requires a CNA with at least 1 year of acute or long-term care experience, CPR as required, and a valid driver's license. Per diem schedule, 8 am–5 pm, Monday–Friday, with variable days based on needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Holds current unencumbered CNA certificate in the state.
• Minimum one year experience as a CNA in acute or long-term care; hospice experience a plus.
• CPR certification if state-mandated.
• Driver's license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care following the care plan to ensure patient comfort and well-being.
• Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, oral hygiene, bedding, clothing, and shampooing.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and patient satisfaction.
• Support families by sharing knowledge and guiding them in caregiving for terminally ill loved ones.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient home, agency records, and regulatory standards.

Altus Hospice is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Aide (CNA) to join our compassionate team, providing hands‑on care that brings comfort and dignity to patients at the end of life. Working closely with our nursing team, you’ll ensure each patient’s physical, emotional, and personal needs are met with respect, empathy, and professionalism.

Schedule: Per Diem, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Days and Hours Varied Based on Needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year experience as a C.N.A. in an acute care or long term care setting. Hospice exp a plus!
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification if state‑mandated
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general posting guideline for the role and is not a fixed offer. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and the specific responsibilities of the position. The exact compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
