Job summary

Altus Hospice is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Aide (CNA) in the Waco area to deliver compassionate, hands-on end-of-life care. You will work closely with the nursing team to meet physical, emotional, and personal needs with dignity and respect.

The position emphasizes patient-centered care, documentation accuracy, and supportive family involvement in a respectful home-care setting. CPR may be required; candidates must have a valid TX CNA license and a driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Holds current unencumbered CNA certificate in Texas.
• Minimum 1 year CNA experience in acute or long-term care; hospice a plus.
• CPR certification if state-mandated.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care per the plan of care and respond promptly to patient and family needs.
• Assist with personal care such as bathing, oral hygiene, and mobility to maintain comfort and dignity.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and support to patients and families.
• Support families with guidance and knowledge during end-of-life care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the home and agency records.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personalized Care: Follow the carefully crafted plan of care to ensure the comfort and well- being of our patients. Attend promptly to the requests of patients and their family/caregiver, offering compassionate and unwavering support.
• Assist with Personal Care: Support patients with various personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, changing bedding, clothing, and shampooing. Your presence during these intimate moments contributes significantly to their overall comfort and dignity.
• Be Dedicated to Customer Service: Emphasize exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to ensure optimal patient satisfaction. Your dedication to providing outstanding care will be valued and celebrated as part of our team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Holds current unencumbered certificate in the state working as a C.N.A.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a C.N.A. in an acute care or long term care setting. Hospice exp a plus!
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification if state- mandated
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general posting guideline for the role and is not a fixed offer. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications , and the specific responsibilities of the position. The exact compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
