Hillsborough Community College seeks a Career Resource Center Assistant to support the Career Center Manager in day-to-day operations and goals. You will counsel college students, alumni, and the public on career development and help deliver workshops on resumes, interviews, and job search strategies.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience, or a High School diploma/GED with substitution supported by experience.
Position Summary: Hiring compensation range: $22.58 - $24.83 per hour depending on qualifications.
Job Summary: Assists the Career Center Manager by supporting the day-to-day operations and goals of the Career Resource Center (CRC) including, but not limited to: assists, counsels, and instructs college students, alumni, and the public in all matters relating to career development.
Job Duties: Assists, counsels and instructs College students and alumni in all matters relating to employment. Develops job opportunities and contacts for students and alumni with employers in Hillsborough County. Assists the Career Center Manager by supporting the day to day operations and goals of the Career Resource Center (CRC). Assists, counsels, and instructs college students, alumni, and the public in all matters relating to career development. Delivers workshop presentations on various career related topics including resumes, interview preparation, job search, and more. Helps maintain the CRC’s active presence on various social media platforms. Aid in monitoring and rotating CRC announcements on college webpages and posting areas. Conducts outreach with employers and college departments to provide outstanding career services. Meets with students one-on-one and/or in groups to provide feedback on career development strategies. Assist with the operation of the Career Ready Closet. Helps facilitate CRC events including job and career fairs. This position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and One year of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.
Preferred Qualifications: An awarded Bachelor’s degree, Experience as an academic advisor in higher education, Strong presentation skills, Experience in job search techniques such as resume’ writing, and Strong computer skills.
