Job summary

Orange County Community College seeks a full-time Job Developer to join the Employment & Training Administration. You will work with job seekers and local employers to prepare for placement, delivering workshops, job search activities, and follow-up on progress as referrals come from ETA staff and DSS.

You will travel between career centers and sites, conduct employer visits, provide coaching and mentoring, develop job opportunities, and maintain participant records and case notes to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.
• Must be able to ride in a van daily with clients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting public assistance recipient individuals and families referred and mandated by ETA and DSS in finding employment.
• Planning, coordinating, and supervising work search activities along with attendance and program compliance.
• Giving job readiness and training workshops in various related topics to groups of clients.
• Formulating career plans and evaluating barriers to employment.
• Accompanying job seekers on daily van runs to visit employers to complete applications, follow up on online applications and/or for a job interview.
• Acting as a job coach by preparing and mentoring job seekers during every step in the process of securing employment.
• Developing and seeking out job openings with area employers to provide opportunities for job seekers.
• Providing mentoring to participants who have been placed and identifying post-employment related needs.
• Providing retention services to both participant and employer.
• Involved in development of contracts that may include subsidized and training employment programs, from start to finish, such as On the Job Training Programs and tax saving incentives to employers.
• Responsible for data entry and case load management, documenting participant activities, vouchering, and other related support.
• Must work with Career Center Case Managers and Career Specialists to maintain a professional relationship while giving feedback relating to customers, employers, and job openings.
