Job summary

Fruitwood Care seeks a self-motivated Job Coach to provide direct, 1:1 support to adults with developmental disabilities in Irvine, CA. You will help participants reach goals in employment, education, volunteering, or independent living.

Tailored Day Services are fully individualized and community-based, shaped by each person’s career and personal goals. You will coordinate transportation, document progress toward IPP goals, and support skill development for independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license with reliable vehicle and insurance.
• Able to pass a background check.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication and time management, ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 coaching to adults with developmental disabilities in the community.
• Help participants pursue goals: employment, education, volunteering, or independent living.
• Support college visits, resume and interview skills, and micro-enterprise ideas.
• Maintain precise service records and IPP progress.
• Transport participants safely to job sites, classes, and activities.

We're looking for a self-motivated, person-centered Job Coach to give direct, 1:1 support to adults with developmental disabilities out in the community. You'll help each person reach their own goals: integrated employment, college, volunteer work, a small business of their own, or living more independently.

Unlike a facility-based day program, Tailored Day Services are fully individualized and flexible, and shaped entirely by each participant's career and personal goals.

What you'll do

• Vocational & educational coaching Explore career paths, search for jobs, build resume and interview skills, navigate a college campus, or start a micro-enterprise.
• Community & volunteering Find meaningful volunteer roles and self-advocacy opportunities that fit each person's strengths and interests.
• Build the independence, self-care and self-advocacy skills that make community life and employment work.
• Documentation Keep precise records of service hours, progress toward Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals, and incidents.
• Transportation Drive participants safely to job sites, classes, volunteer posts and community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, clean DMV record
• Able to pass a background check
• CPR / First Aid certified, or willing to get certified
• Strong communication and time management; works well independently

Preferred

College students in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Human Services or a related field. Experience with developmental disabilities, tutoring or camp counseling.
