Job summary

UCP WORK, Inc. in Ventura, CA is seeking a Job Coach to support individuals with disabilities at their job sites, helping them learn tasks, adapt to workplace routines, and navigate employment challenges.

This role offers flexible part-time or full-time hours with opportunities to work directly with participants and employers, plus training and safety support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with iPad features and apps for scheduling, communication and data entry.
• Ability to work with numerous interruptions.
• Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities.
• Patience with diverse challenges including intellectual, emotional, or behavioral issues.
• May need to be available during disasters per plan.
• Must have reliable phone.
• Valid CA Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification (Training included).

Flexible Hours between 7am- 7pm, may include some weekends

About the Role

As a Job Coach, you will provide direct support to individuals with disabilities at their job sites, helping them learn job tasks, develop workplace skills, and navigate employment challenges. You'll work closely with both participants and employers to ensure a positive and productive work experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
• Comfortable ascending and descending stairs.
• Capacity to push or pull wheelchairs when necessary.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, hearing, and understanding technical written materials.
• Lift up to 25lbsusing safe lifting techniques
• Full awareness of environmental stimuli to ensure a safe and responsive environment.
• Willingness to be trained in and implement crisis management and safety techniques

• At least one (1) year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred
• Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding persons served and other related information
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technical Proficiency:Ability to effectively navigate and utilize iPad features and applications for daily tasks, including managing schedules, communication, and data entry.
• Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions
• Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities
• Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding because people served may have intellectual, emotional, or behavioral challenges, in addition to physical limitations
• May need to be available during any disasters, per disaster plan
• Must have reliable phone
• Valid CA Driver's License: must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy
• Valid certification in CPR/First Aid (Training included)
