Job summary

Access Community Care (ACC) is seeking a compassionate Job Coach / Job Developer to support individuals with IDD in securing and maintaining competitive integrated employment in the Portland metro area. This blended role combines direct participant coaching with employer outreach and collaboration with support teams.

In this full-time position, you will build relationships with participants and local employers, coordinate with vocational rehabilitation and case managers, and help participants

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to complete background checks.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule for participant needs.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and sit/stand/bend/kneel/reach.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with participants and provide individualized coaching.
• Assist participants in identifying employment goals and developing plans.
• Provide on-site coaching, task analysis, and workplace supports.
• Collaborate with employers for successful workplace integration.
• Support transportation and community access as needed.
• Maintain health, safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Travel to worksites and community employers to support participants.
• Complete progress notes, billing docs, and service records.
• Follow policies, Medicaid/ODDS, and training requirements.

Pay: $20.50-$23.00 per hour

About the Position

Access Community Care (ACC) is looking for a compassionate, motivated, and flexible Job Coach / Job Developer to join our Employment Services team. This blended position supports individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in obtaining, maintaining, and advancing meaningful, competitive integrated employment.

You will work directly with participants while also developing relationships with local employers, coordinating with support teams, and helping participants move toward their employment goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both working one‑on‑one with people and building connections within the community.

What You'll Do

Job Coaching

• Build trusting, supportive relationships with participants.
• Provide individualized coaching to help participants succeed and maintain employment.
• Assess job skills and provide on‑site coaching, task analysis, and workplace support.
• Help participants develop independence and natural workplace supports.
• Collaborate with employers to promote successful workplace integration.
• Support participants with transportation and community access when needed.
• Maintain participant health, safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

Job Development

• Help participants identify their employment interests, strengths, abilities, and career goals.
• Develop competitive integrated employment opportunities through employer outreach.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses and community partners.
• Support participants with job searches, applications, interviews, and the hiring process.
• Coordinate with Vocational Rehabilitation, case managers, families, and other members of the participant's support team.
• Process and manage participant referrals assigned by Employment Services leadership.

Team & Operational Responsibilities

• Balance Job Coaching and Job Development responsibilities based on participant and department needs.
• Provide staffing flexibility and coverage when needed.
• Communicate regularly with Employment Services leadership regarding participant progress and employment opportunities.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Complete accurate progress notes, billing documentation, employer contacts, and service records.
• Follow agency policies, Medicaid requirements, ODDS requirements, OARs, and applicable service authorizations.
• Maintain required training and certifications.
• Travel throughout the agency's service area to participant worksites and community employers.

• Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
• Experience in supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, job coaching, or a related field.
• Experience working with employers or in a community-based employment setting.
