Job summary

Mains’l is seeking a part-time Job Coach to support individuals in community internships and employment settings. You’ll provide hands-on guidance, help with resumes, interview prep, and on-the-job training, while building strong partnerships with local businesses.

This role requires excellent communication, reliability, and the ability to manage relationships and boundaries in diverse environments. Hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, 20 hours per week, with pay starting at $19.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Ability to pass a DOJ background check.
• Safe and reliable transportation with valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a driving record check.
• TB skin test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, support, and training to individuals during internships or employment.
• Assist with resume writing, job search strategies, interview preparation, and on-the-job training.
• Support individuals in navigating professional boundaries and relationships.
• Support staff with job coach training.
• Serve as a liaison between community partners and Mains’l with inclusive training.

What does a Job Coach do?

As a Job Coach, you'll play a vital role in guiding individuals through their professional journeys, providing hands-on support as they learn new tasks and develop crucial workplace relationships. Your ability to communicate effectively, think critically, and adapt to diverse environments will be key as you help others navigate their roles, both in community internships and employment settings.

In this role, you'll not only coach individuals but also serve as a bridge between our organization and community business partners, fostering inclusive practices and ensuring successful employment experiences. Your strong interpersonal skills, coupled with your knack for problem-solving and time management, will empower you to make sound decisions on the ground.

We're looking for highly motivated individuals who understand the importance of maintaining professional boundaries while offering compassionate support, ensuring that each person you work with feels respected and empowered to succeed.

Status: Part-time, 20 hours a week

Pay Rate: $19.25

Hours: Monday - Friday between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

The job coach/mentor will be responsible for:

• Providing guidance, support, and training to individuals while they perform their duties in their community internship or place of employment.
• Assist with resume writing, job search strategies, interview preparation, and on-the-job-training.
• Supporting individuals with learning and navigating professional boundaries and relationships.
• Supporting staff team members with job coach training.
• Acting as a liaison between community business partners and Mains’l by providing job coaching and inclusive community training.

Pre-employment requirements:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
• Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a driving record check.
• TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

Pay Scale:

• Starting rate: $19.25 per hour
• Maximum Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour based on years of experience at Mains'l.
