Harbor is seeking a Job Developer to join our Defiance team. This position provides job development services to clients linked with funding sources, contacting employers and actively developing job opportunities for clients.

Position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Education / Experience / Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred, plus 1 year sales/marketing experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, may substitute an Associate’s degree plus 1 year vocational rehabilitation experience (i.e., job development); or 3 years successful sales, marketing, or job recruitment experience.
• Proven success in sales and in establishing business-to-business relationships; familiarity with OOD and BWC guidelines preferred.
• Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
• Must successfully complete a BCI/FBI background check(s) and six exclusionary database checks every 5 years, as required by OOD.

Essential Job Competencies / Primary Duties

• Type documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor.
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation which includes, but is not limited to: progress notes, Incident Report forms, Service Plans, and any other necessary documentation for job development services.
• Market Harbor services and ability to meet employer needs through proper job matches.
• Develop relationships with local employers to identify needs and assist in filling vacancies.
• Educate employers on providing responsible accommodations in accordance with ADA.
• Provide good employee/employer matches through job analysis and employee interest.
• Provide excellent customer service to funding and referral sources by being responsive to inquiries regarding services, client progress, etc.
• Provide job development, job‑seeking skills training, and follow‑along services.
• Assist clients in developing a resume, completing job applications, interview skills, and other activities related to obtaining employment.
• May provide job coaching services as applicable.
• Provide job contact information for employer database and work collaboratively with the job development team.
• In providing billable services, fulfill or exceed unit expectations established by Harbor.
• As concerns driving responsibilities, maintain current and valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and comply with Harbor’s transportation policy and procedures.
• Keep current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrate continued growth.
• Carry and utilize a cell phone for business‑related communication with clients, supervisor, and other staff.
• Provide coaching and mentoring assistance as needed to maintain and retain employment.
