Job summary

PathPoint is seeking a full-time Job Coach (Direct Support Professional) in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role supports adults with disabilities at their place of work, helping them maintain employment and enjoy job satisfaction. The position is 40 hours per week.

Compensation starts at $23.25 per hour, with a pay range of $22.09 to $24.41, and depends on a variety of factors. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, paid sick leave, a 403(b) retirement plan

• Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Accompany individuals to their place of work, observe abilities, and provide feedback to increase productivity and encourage positive work behavior.
• Coach and counsel individuals on workplace issues and advocate for them when needed.
• Assist individuals with work-related paperwork, such as timecards, time off requests, tax forms, and benefits enrollment.
• Maintain good relationships with employers and workplace supervisors, and act as liaison between employers, workplace supervisors, and individuals.
• Assist in developing and implementing an individualized plan for coaching individuals to work more independently, with the eventual goal of complete self-sufficiency.

PathPoint is seeking a full-time Job Coach (Direct Support Professional) in San Luis Obispo, CA. Job Coaches support adults with disabilities at their place of work, helping them maintain successful employment and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. This position is 40 hours per week.

We serve communities across Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.

Compensation:

This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $23.25 per hour. The pay range is $22.09 to $24.41 and dependent on a variety of factors.

What You'll Do:

What We're Looking For:

• Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this opportunity but do not have directly relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
• Ability to coach/train others in a positive way.
• Ability to work independently, including creating own schedule and demonstrating a high level of accountability and dependability
• Must have reliable transportation for daily travel around the community, which may include visiting multiple sites in one day.
• Culturally aware, acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds, possesses skills to collaborate across cultures, and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences
• High school diploma or GED is required.
