Job summary

PathPoint is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Project SEARCH team at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA.

The role supports interns with developmental disabilities during a one-year internship program, coaching on soft and hard skills and coordinating quiz and evaluations. The position is 22.5 hours per week (Mon-Wed-Fri 8:00am-3:30pm) with compensation starting at $23.25 per hour and a pay range of $22.09-$24.41.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Flexibility with job location is needed.
• Tech savvy, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Prior experience, professionally or personally, working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and support interns by teaching soft skills such as professional communication, behavior and grooming/hygiene, and hard skills specific to the internship duties.
• Provide individualized support for interns, including job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, and use of assistive technology.
• Collaborate with interns, employers, staff, and other partners to address issues affecting interns' training and employment.
• Lead classroom discussions on employment-related skills.
• Write case notes, monthly intern evaluations, and other reports regularly.

PathPoint is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals to join our Project SEARCH team at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA . Project SEARCH is a unique one-year internship program that enables adults with developmental disabilities to learn invaluable job skills in a competitive work setting. In this role, you will coach and support interns with disabilities as they work through internship rotations, helping them develop skills and confidence for regular employment when their internships end. This position is part-time for 22.5 hours per week, Mon - Wed- Fri 8:00am-3:30pm.

PathPoint is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people flourish. Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $23.25 per hour. The pay range is $22.09-$24.41. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.
