Job Title: Job Coach
Department: Support Staff

General Job Description:
To guide individuals in their job and vocational settings, document progress and attendance, and provide coaching and mentoring.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with individuals’ goals, job placements, and job site expectations.
- Guide individuals in learning to complete job tasks assigned by the job site.
- Monitor each individual’s job progress and modify tasks as needed or requested.
- Create lists, charts, or reminder notes to facilitate learning for each individual.
- Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use these effectively on the job site.
- Assist individuals in discovering and overcoming personal barriers and setting growth goals.
- Provide coaching in prioritizing job tasks and completing them logically.
- Encourage individuals to complete tasks in a timely manner once basic skills are acquired.
- Keep detailed progress notes to monitor and evaluate client progress.
- Maintain records and documentation for all goals and objectives.
- Assist individuals with disabilities in developing social and life skills.
- Track measurable goals and ensure all documentation is complete daily and weekly.
- Ensure safety areas are maintained monthly, including completing checklists and fire drills.
- Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, residential staff, DDS Case Managers, OWC Directors, and other staff and contacts.
- Record daily attendance for all workers in your program.
- Keep vocational assessments up to date for each individual.
- Contribute to creating a positive environment for staff and participants.
- Be a team player and follow all agency policies and procedures.
- Learn and adhere to all safety and emergency procedures.
- Participate in OWC fundraising events.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a job coach.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus.
- Experience in developing employment plans.
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Respect for diversity.
- Ability to inspire and motivate.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Human Service setting.
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility with hours.
- Proven success in similar roles.
- CPR/First Aid, PMT, Med Cert are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with 5 years of clean driving record.
- Willingness to use personal vehicle if needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
