Job summary

Linwood Center, Inc. is seeking a Job Coach to support individuals in the Supported Employment Program. You will guide job-site activities, help individuals meet employer expectations, and assist with daily living skills development.

The role requires CPR/First Aid and MANDT certifications, a valid MD driver’s license, and the ability to document progress and maintain records in the CIMS system. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with a $500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid MD driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Experience creating community involvement and volunteer or employment opportunities with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certifications required to maintain.
  • Demonstrate ability to address developmental and social-emotional needs of adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IP and Behavior Plans and document relevant portions for the day program.
  • Guide individuals at the job site to meet employer expectations.
  • Assist individuals in performing duties to maintain production levels.
  • Encourage participation in activities of daily living and skills development.
  • Support individuals in achieving success and integration in community and work sites.
  • Provide transportation for assigned individuals or groups.
  • Complete required documentation efficiently and timely.
  • Attend meetings and utilize Linwood’s Data Management System to ensure accurate records and billing.

Job Summary

$500 Sign-On Bonus The Job Coach is responsible for supporting one or more individuals during their day-to-day activities in Linwood’s Supported Employment Program. The Job Coach is directly accountable to the Supported Employment Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing the IP and Behavior Plans, implement them, and document the portion of the plans related to the day program.
  • Guide one or more individuals at the job site to ensure the job duties meet the employer's expectations.
  • Involved in performing the job duties along with the individual(s) as needed to maintain the production level determined by the employer.
  • Guide one or more individuals at the job site to ensure successful participation in appropriate activities of daily living, including the development of self‑help skills, leisure skills, and functional academic or vocational skills.
  • Actively support the individual in achieving success and integration in the community and at the work site.
  • Provide transportation to assigned individuals or groups.
  • Complete all required documentation in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Be a role model to the individuals served and, at times, a representation of Linwood.
  • Attend meetings, including staff, clinical, and medication reviews, when requested or directed.
  • Use technology for the completion of specified job duties.
  • Learn and properly utilize Linwood’s Data Management System (CIMS) to maintain accurate records and allow accurate billing with LTSS/DDA.
  • Attend work regularly according to the assigned work schedule and per Linwood’s policy.
  • Participate in all mandated DDA training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development.
  • Maintain current valid CPR/First Aid and MANDT certifications.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, supervisors, administrators, co‑workers, people served, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public.
  • Assume other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience creating community involvement and volunteer or employment opportunities with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s MD license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Agency’s insurance carrier and Agency policy.
Abilities and Competencies
  • Demonstrate interest and ability to address the developmental and social‑emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and understanding.
  • Be flexible enough to work cooperatively with other staff in addressing individuals’ physical, social‑emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Demonstrate understanding of fundamental rights and self‑determination and ensure that individuals receive these rights.
  • Comprehend Linwood’s philosophy and be able to teach Linwood’s methods and philosophy to others.
  • Engage professionally with Linwood staff, parents, school personnel, and other professionals.
  • Organize, document, and meet deadlines.
  • Follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Regular exposure to weather conditions during travel to and from worksites and appointments.
  • Frequent use of hands or fingers, handling or feeling objects, tools, and technology controls.
  • Must be able to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.
  • Must be able to work under regular, moderate levels of stress.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
