Job summary

Hotel Saint Augustine, part of Bunkhouse Hotels in Houston, is seeking a Barista to deliver excellent guest service and high-quality beverages in a fast-paced setting. You will prepare coffee and teas on an industrial espresso machine, input orders into the POS, and work closely with the Food & Beverage team.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of barista knowledge and hospitality experience, with a passion for guest experience and a detail-oriented, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Prepare and serve beverages (coffee, latte, espresso, teas) using an industrial espresso machine
• Handle cash transactions in accordance with the property’s cash handling policy
• Have a deep knowledge about the hotel and local area
• Anticipate customer needs when assisting all guests with their orders to ensure a positive experience
• Follow all company policies and procedures in regards to cash handling, food and beverage preparation, safety and daily operation of the restaurant
• Prepare all orders according to company standards while meeting or exceeding speed of service and quality expectations
• Maintain a clean and organized guest environment as well as a clean and organized workspace
• Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Ensure knowledge of menu
• Take guest beverage and/or food orders and input orders in appropriate POS system
• All other tasks and duties as assigned
• 1-2 years of barista knowledge
• Previous hospitality experience preferred
• Experience in a high volume restaurant is a must

The Barista is responsible for honoring each and every guest by providing excellent customer service and a high quality product. The Barista will work closely with the hotel's Food & Beverage team.
