Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3-5 years of administrative experience
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to work weekends on a rare basis
• Ability to work overtime on an occasional basis
• Ability to travel independently on a rare basis
• Maintain confidentiality
• Accuracy/attention to detail
• Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
• Familiarity with jewelry terms and processes
• 4,000 SPH ten-key by touch
• 40 WPM typing
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, jewelry system software
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Assist the buyer with all aspects of jewelry merchandising.
• Assist buyers with purchasing merchandise from vendors.
• Assist stores with buying requests.
• Assist the buyer with inventory control and monitor inventory levels by store.
• Assist the buyer with assortment planning.
• Complete store tours and/or competition comparison.
• Coordinate special events.
• Review purchase/sales analysis.
• Prepare reports for all vendor meetings.
• Assist buyers with tracking Salvage Allowance, Stock Balance Allowance, Quality Control rejects and late shipment fees.
• Assign SKU numbers and set up new items according to supplier specs and mark-up guidelines.
• Adjust item profiles to optimize GMROI and stock-to-sales ratios.
