Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Jewell Server for the Omaha Marriott Downtown to deliver drinks and exceptional service in a refined hotel setting. You will greet guests, take orders, and coordinate with the bar team to ensure timely, accurate service.

Responsibilities include presenting checks, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to liquor regulations. Prior server experience and TIPS certification are preferred; CPR/First Aid training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior server experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service and alcohol handling.
• Ability to read menus and promotions; communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and courteously; explain specials and snacks.
• Take orders and relay to bartender; memorize menus.
• Ensure proper garnishes and presentation with beverages.
• Process orders through POS system; present checks and thank guests.

As a Jewell Server at the Omaha Marriott Downtown, you'll be responsible for serving drinks in a precise, timely, and professional manner while ensuring high standards of customer service in the Jewell on Capitol outlet.

What will you be doing?

• Greet guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explains all specials, promotions, and snacks.
• Take orders, reciting menu and drinks as requested, requires memorization of the food and beverage menus.
• Provide appropriate snack and garnish with all beverages when requested.
• Input orders into point-of-sale system to inform bartender an order was made in a timely manner.
• Present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return, so they will frequent the restaurant again.
• Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation of bar area along with personal hygiene.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.

What do you bring to the role?

• Prior server experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• Ability to read, sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, speak and write the English language to communicate with the guest, and take orders.
• Ability to transport large awkward trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
• Ability to obtain any local, state or government required license or certificate. TIPS and Douglas County food handler certification required. CPR certification and / or First Aid Training preferred.
