Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. in Mentor, OH is seeking a Blast Operator to perform abrasive blasting on turbine engine components, preparing parts for repair and paint.

You will learn blast equipment and media types and gain hands-on experience as you grow into additional responsibilities. Through our in-house training program, you will follow safety protocols, set up and operate blast machines, mask and prepare parts, and read work instructions to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with pressure gauges.
• Able to perform basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow step-by-step work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Perform various blast techniques on turbine engine components using a cross mix of equipment.
• Mask and tape parts for blasting; perform actual blasting with aluminum oxide, plastic media or wet blast.
• Set up and operate blast machines per instructions and manufacturer specs.
• Secure supplies, tooling and blast products before operation.
• Inspect blast equipment regularly and perform basic maintenance.
• Use overhead crane and lifting equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret work instructions and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
