Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) is hiring a Blast Operator to support aerospace blast operations, removing surface contaminants and preparing parts for repair and paint.

You will work with blast equipment and media such as aluminum oxide and plastic media, with increasing responsibilities as you gain experience. Training includes computer-based and hands-on instruction, safety protocols, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Two years’ work experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with pressure gauges and measurement concepts.
• Ability to perform basic shop math with decimals and fractions.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to understand work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and company safety policies.
• Operate various blast techniques on turbine engine components using multiple equipment types.
• Mask and tape parts prior to blasting and perform actual blasting operations with abrasive media.
• Set up and operate blast machines per work instructions and specs.
• Secure supplies and blast products before operations begin.
• Inspect and maintain blast equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Use hoists, cranes, and PPE; read and interpret instructions.
• Communicate work-related issues to supervisors promptly.
