Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division invites applications for a Mechanic at the Columbus Engine Center. You will oversee overhaul, repair, and assembly of jet engines, applying precise mechanical expertise to restore peak performance and safety on commercial and military aircraft.

This weekend shift role runs Fri-Sun, 6:30am–7:00pm, offering hands-on teamwork, strict adherence to work instructions, and opportunities to contribute to high-quality engine programs across global operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• A&P license or Powerplant certificate preferred.
• Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, and turbine engine test operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and related continuous improvement methods.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly comply with self-inspection and peer inspection requirements to meet quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet safety, quality and delivery objectives.
