Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking a Jet Bridge Technician Apprentice at Washington Dulles International Airport for a state-approved Trades Apprentice Employment Program. The role involves on-the-job and classroom training to become a licensed Jet Bridge Technician I, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, tool handling, and preventive maintenance.

You will learn to interpret manuals and electrical diagrams, operate diagnostic software, and assist senior technicians.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED at hire.
Completion of at least one trades course in high school or trade program.
Willingness to learn and safety awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

Learn to determine causes of operating problems and repair heavy equipment and passenger bridges.
Learn to use manuals, electrical diagrams, and laptop diagnostic software.
Assist journey level Jet Bridge Technicians by transporting tools and materials to job sites.
Learn preventive maintenance and identify and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
Work safely with electrical circuits and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Assist in maintaining work orders and coordinating with the airport’s systems.
