Job description

We are seeking a highly credentialed Professional Engineer (PE) Consultant to serve as our strategic technical authority and permitting facilitator in the US market. Leveraging your active PE licensure across multiple states and deep relationships with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), you will oversee the design re, drawing conversion, and municipal approval processes for our AI Data Center (AIDC) projects. You will act as the critical bridge between our engineering teams and US regulatory bodies to ensure rapid, compliant project approvals.

Responsibilities
  • Design Re & Drawing Conversion: Re and validate engineering designs, schematics, and BIM models for AIDC facilities. Oversee the conversion of international/domestic design drawings into US-standard compliant documents, ensuring strict adherence to NEC, NFPA, UL, and IEEE standards.
  • PE Stamping & Technical Sign-off: Provide official PE stamping and technical sign-off for multi-state AIDC projects, covering MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), structural, and fire protection disciplines. Assume professional liability for design compliance.
  • AHJ Liaison & Permitting Acceleration: Serve as the primary technical liaison with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), building departments, and utility commissions. Proactively resolve code interpretation disputes, answer technical queries, and expedite the municipal plan review and permitting process.
  • Cross-Border Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with domestic (China) engineering teams to translate project requirements, optimize equipment BOMs, and refine modular AIDC/prefab designs before US submission, minimizing rework and accelerating the overall design-to-permit timeline.
Qualifications
  • Active Multi-State PE Licensure: Must hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in multiple key US states (e.g., Virginia, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, Florida).
  • Tier-1 Design Institute Pedigree: Minimum 10+ years of experience in US critical infrastructure. Must have a proven track record working at or partnering with top-tier North American AIDC PE design firms (e.g., Syska Hennessy, SSOE Group, TLC Engineering, Mott MacDonald, Stantec, or HH Angus).
  • Demonstrated history of successfully navigating complex AHJ for hyperscale or modular AIDC projects. Must provide at least 2 concrete case studies detailing how you resolved technical bottlenecks with local jurisdictions to accelerate permitting.
  • AIDC Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in high-power density data center design, including 800V HVDC, liquid cooling systems, Generator redundancy (NFPA 110), and Uptime Tier certifications.
