Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate manual lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines. The role involves setting up and running a variety of tools, fabricating or modifying parts, and maintaining precision components in a climate-controlled, on-site facility.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines to produce precision parts.
• Ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools and to fabricate/modify parts to maintain equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and metal properties as they relate to machining procedures.

Jasper Electric Motor Machinist

Job Overview: At Jasper Electric Motors the Machinist is responsible for operating manual lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Include precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines while applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Performs other duties/projects as designated by supervisor, and parameters are indicative to average requirements that are not inclusive based on change in operational, safety, or environmental factors.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday (6:00am to 4:00pm)
• On call rotating schedule for after hours, holidays, and weekends
