Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Leavenworth, Indiana is seeking a self-directed associate who can read micrometers and operate a grinding lathe to grind crankshaft journals to exact specifications.

You will handle machine set-up, move parts from a floor rack into the equipment and back for shipment, and perform basic preventative maintenance. Schedule is Monday–Friday with overtime; benefits include PTO after 30 days, holidays, and on-site facilities.

Job Overview: This is a self-directed position requiring the Associate to have the ability to understand an read micrometers to accurately operate the grinding lathe to grind crankshaft rod and main journal to required specifications. Requires positioning crankshaft from a floor rack into the machine and back for shipment. Knowing, understanding, and performing machine set-up and preventative maintenance is required.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
• Overtime

Qualifications

• The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 15 lbs.
• The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx.…8-10 hours)
• The ability to use handheld tools such as hammer and hand grinder.
• Standing: Frequently
• Walking: Occasionally
• Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally
• Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting rate $20.00
• PTO after 30 days and 10 paid holidays after 30 days
