Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions is hiring a Machinist to repair and manufacture parts, ensuring accuracy per blueprints. You will prepare by reviewing specifications, choose tools, and operate machines while monitoring performance. The role emphasizes attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The schedule is Monday–Friday with a starting rate of $20.00 per hour plus experience-based increases; comprehensive benefits and a strong employee-owned culture are offered.

• Calculate how to shape the piece and select appropriate tools.
• Set controls and operate the machine to perform cuts.
• Monitor speed and heat and watch for problems during machining.

Responsibilities

• Repair machinery parts and create new parts, individually or in groups.
• Place workpieces on the machine and run cuts as specified.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and controlled work environment.

Job description

Job Overview: There are a variety of tasks this position completes, including repairing machinery parts and creating new parts, either in groups or one at a time. First, a machinist must prepare by checking the specifications and blueprints for a job. They calculate how to shape the piece of metal or other material that is being worked on and decide what tools will be needed. Next, machinists place the work piece on the tool of choice and set the controls to make the cuts. While the machining process is taking place, machinists watch carefully for any problems. They monitor the speed and heat of the machine. Associates must be detail oriented.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting rate $20.00 + based on experience.
