Job summary

Behavioral Health Response is seeking a Clinical Manager to oversee the JCRU team and lead clinical services in the community. The role supervises clinicians, guides diversion policies, and ensures training and quality standards with strong leadership and communication skills.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, at least 1 year of supervisory experience, and familiarity with crisis intervention models.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in SW/psychology/related field and licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a supervisor or one-year counseling leadership experience.
  • At least 1 year at BHR if internal transfer (preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of call center protocol, the Crisis Intervention Model, and the DSM-5.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills including excellent customer service.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills and sound clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise JCRU Clinicians and Lead Clinicians.
  • Provide coaching, performance reviews, goal setting, and deficiency management.
  • Support and communicate business goals, quality standards, processes, procedures, and policies; conduct regular team meetings.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate staff documentation to ensure quality standards.
  • Manage staff schedules, attendance, and PTO using scheduling software.
  • Provide debriefing for all employees as needed.
  • Interviews and hires team members with approval of Clinical Associate Director.
  • Conduct supervision activities including staffing, discipline, and performance appraisals.
  • Ensure timely, professional work and maintain high quality performance; be on-call for service consultation.
  • Demonstrate flexibility across departments and adapt to changes.
  • Perform high quality clinical assessments with excellent customer service skills.
  • Participate in supervision, BHR training, seminars, and events.

Job description

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Position Summary:

Directly supervises the Justice and Crisis Response Unit “JCRU” Clinicians as well as the Lead Clinicians. Clinical Manage oversees BHR Diversion program under supervision of the clinical associate director. This position will serve as a liaison between emergency personnel managers/supervisors to ensure strong relationships and mutual agreement on diversion policies and procedures. The Clinical Manager will be responsible for managing all JCRU staff. The Clinical Manager will also be able to provide the JCRU services in the community and be able to assist in training on all JCRU functions. This position will have a strong public presence and will be expected to provide trainings under the Clinical Directors’ guidance, as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees receive appropriate training and can demonstrate competency in necessary skills.
  • Provides and documents performance feedback to staff through side‑by‑side coaching, performance reviews, goal setting, and deficiency management.
  • Supports and communicates business goals, quality standards, processes, procedures, and policies. Administers motivational programs for individual and team performance. Communicates BHR’s and programmatic updates, activities and plans to team by conducting regular team meetings.
  • Monitors, reviews, and evaluates all staff written documentation to ensure quality standards and team benchmarks are consistently achieved.
  • Manages staff schedules, attendance, paid time off, etc. by effectively using scheduling software.
  • Provides debriefing for all employees as needed.
  • Reviews and audit 3 assessments per clinician bi‑weekly to ensure quality standards and team productivity consistently achieved. Clinical Manager is responsible for reporting these findings to Associate Clinical Manager during supervisions.
  • Interviews and hires team members upon approval of Clinical Associate Director.
  • Conducts personnel supervision activities such as staffing, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals.
  • Completes work in a timely, professional manner, and achieves established goals and objectives. Monitors own work to ensure quality performance.
  • Is available on‑call for service consultation.
  • Demonstrates an ability and willingness to work in a fluid environment across departmental lines or units. Responds to changes in direction and priorities positively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in work habits and time management skills. Meets JCRU attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Performs high quality clinical assessments with excellent customer service skills.
  • Documentation is written in a proficient and professional manner.
  • Committed to ongoing professional and educational development. Participates in individual and group supervision, BHR training, seminars, functions, and events.
  • Must work well as part of a team and individually with other employees. Must be flexible with work hours and special requests from JCRU leadership.
  • Perform various other duties and functions as required or assigned within area of expertise or scope of the position.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Psychiatric Nursing (licensure preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a supervisor or one-year counseling experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
