Job summary

Southwest JCB is seeking a field service technician to join our service department. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical knowledge and will repair and maintain JCB equipment and other heavy equipment.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, read diagrams, complete paperwork, and maintain strong customer relationships. Must be able to lift 75 lbs, have a high school diploma or GED, and maintain a valid driving record.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment.
  • MSHA certification preferred.
  • Physically able to perform duties and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Trained and certified to operate equipment and forklifts.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer, vendor and peer relationships.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as excavators, skid steer loaders, CTLs, telehandlers, and wheel loaders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Read and interpret parts diagrams and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
  • Complete paperwork (work orders, parts requisition, timecards) accurately and timely.

Job description

As field service technician for Southwest JCB you will be an integral member of our service department. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical and electrical knowledge and be responsible for repairing and maintaining JCB equipment and various other types of Heavy Equipment while exemplifying the highest customer service standards.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain customer, vendor and peer relationshipsTroubleshoot and repair equipment and machinery such as, but not limited to: excavators, skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, telehandlers, and wheel loadersPerform quality maintenance, diagnosis, disassemble, inspect, perform rebuilds and reassemble all components or equipment (i.e., engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical codes, etc.). This may include failure analysis as required.Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.Troubleshoot and repair attachments such as, hammers, buckets, augers, planers, etc.Read and interpret parts diagrams and technical drawings, including both hydraulic and electrical schematicsAbility to read and understand materials commonly used in the product service and maintenance function (service and parts manuals, technical bulletins, and other related articles).Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, such as, work orders, parts requisition paperwork, timecards, etc.Perform work in a timely manner in accordance with published repair time schedules.Education and ExperienceA minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining construction equipmentStick welding experience preferred.MSHA certification preferredComputer literate with the ability to process informationQualificationsAbility to communicate, prioritize and maintain time managementCapable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervisionTrained and certified to operate equipment and forklifts.Physically able to perform duties and lift to 75lbs.Strong work ethic with a commitment to qualityMaintain a great attitude toward workAdheres to company policies, procedures and practices as required.Acceptable driving recordA history of safe work habitsA high school diploma or GED and basic math skillsSouthwest JCB is a division of Southwest Material Handling and is an equal employment opportunity (EEO) employer in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
