Job summary

Southwest JCB, a division of Southwest Material Handling, seeks a field service technician in Las Vegas, NV to repair and maintain JCB equipment and other heavy machinery. You will work within the service department to ensure top-notch customer service and uptime.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in heavy equipment repair, welding experience, and a solid understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems. Candidates should be computer literate and capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment.
• Stick welding experience preferred.
• MSHA certification preferred.
• Computer literate with the ability to process information.
• High school diploma or GED and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer, vendor and peer relationships.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and machinery such as, but not limited to: excavators, skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, telehandlers, and wheel loaders.
• Perform quality maintenance, diagnosis, disassemble, inspect, perform rebuilds and reassemble all components or equipment (i.e., engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical codes, etc.). This may include failure analysis as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair attachments such as, hammers, buckets, augers, planers, etc.
• Read and interpret parts diagrams and technical drawings, including both hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the product service and maintenance function (service and parts manuals, technical bulletins, and other related articles).
• Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, such as, work orders, parts requisition paperwork, timecards, etc.
• Perform work in a timely manner in accordance with published repair time schedules.
