Job summary

Our client in Saint Louis, Missouri, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid role (4 days onsite). The contract spans 12 to 18 months with pay ranging from $80/hr to $100/hr on W2. Local Missouri candidates are preferred.

You will design and implement Java/Spring Boot microservices and TypeScript frontend, leveraging AWS GovCloud services, addressing technical debt, and driving automated tests in collaboration with scrum teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on development.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot environment.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora).
• Familiarity with Angular and micro-frontend concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices using Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript.
• Build solutions with AWS GovCloud including ECS/EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS.
• Address technical debt and upgrade outdated dependencies.

What's the Job?

• Design and implement microservices using Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript, supporting event-driven and RESTful integration patterns.
• Build solutions leveraging AWS GovCloud services, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, and RDS, within microservices and micro-frontend architecture.
• Address technical debt by upgrading outdated dependencies and frameworks.
• Ensure comprehensive test automation using UI testing and behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and scrum teams to translate architectural vision into scalable solutions.

What's Needed?

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on development expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Experience in AWS Cloud, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Angular; familiarity with micro-frontend architecture (module federation) is a plus.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to document designs and articulate complex ideas clearly.
