Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural design and hands-on development for a cloud-based digital and eCommerce platform.

You will own one or more services, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product Owners to convert backlog items into executable stories. The role emphasizes modern software engineering practices, including microservices, event-driven architectures, robust data pipelines, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8–10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Recent hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Recent experience with Kafka and in-memory caching.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Ability to develop technical solutions based on business requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• Excellent communication skills.

The role will focus on modern software engineering principles, including microservices, event-driven architectures, robust data pipelines, and distributed systems. • Experience leading product‑oriented engineering development teams.
• Familiarity with SQL, GitHub, GitLab, and other version control systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and the product development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with modern web APIs and full‑stack frameworks.
• Experience with GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Flink, and Google BigQuery.
