Kelly seeks a Software Engineer on a W2 contract basis to build and support event-driven Java microservices on AWS. You will plan work, coordinate with colleagues, and deliver features with guidance from senior team members.

The role requires onsite interviews and focuses on Java/Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes, with a mix of testing, deployment, and collaboration responsibilities.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Builds backlog functionality in Java and Spring Boot, including SQS messaging and REST API clients.
• Writes unit and integration tests (JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers) and validates deliverables against criteria.
• Maintains Terraform infrastructure, Helm deployments on Amazon EKS, and GitHub Actions pipelines; monitors production with Datadog.
• Documents necessary work and follows industry-standard agile methodology.
• Collaborates with team members and other API/infrastructure teams to meet business needs.

Title: Software Engineer

Employment: W2 Contract only (NO C2C)

Duration: until Oct/2027

Pay rate: $56 per hour to $62 per hour

ONSITE Interview required for this position

Major Purpose: Works on building and supporting event-driven Java microservices on AWS that turn completed field operations into AI-generated stories. Plan work and coordinate with others to deliver functionality on a system of moderate complexity. Relies on journey-level knowledge of Java and Spring Boot and develops solutions to well-defined problems with guidance from senior team members. Coordinate and review portions of the work. Has proficiency in one functional area.

Major Duties:

• Builds backlog functionality in Java 25 and Spring Boot 4, including SQS messaging, REST API clients, and AI prompt construction.
• Writes unit and integration tests (JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers with LocalStack) and tests deliverables against acceptance criteria.
• Maintains Terraform infrastructure, Helm deployments on Amazon EKS, and GitHub Actions pipelines; monitors production with Datadog.
• Executes necessary documentation and follows industry-standard agile methodology.
• Works closely with team members to ensure features meet business needs; collaborates with infrastructure, security, and partner API teams.

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot; understanding of REST APIs and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with AWS (SQS, Step Functions, EKS), Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform preferred.
• Analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Business process knowledge of assigned area(s); agriculture knowledge is a plus.

Education:

• Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience – University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
• Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience – University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

Work Experience:

• Work experience in a team environment (1–3 years)
• Previous experience in software development, preferably Java backend services (1–3 years)
• Experience working in an Agile environment (1–3 years)
